Collectible Baseball Cards and What to Look For
Baseball along with photography gained in popularity during the mid 19th century. Because of the, baseball clubs started posing for group and individual player photos. These early photos make their own to wallet sized photos that as popularity grew, people starting keep and collect them. The first company to produce a true baseball card was Peck and Snyder.
After WW1 card production took a lull since the foreign markets were not there and the US economy was recovering. During the 1920’s, the American Caramel Company emerged and started producing cards is smaller lots. If you can get your hands on some of those early cards, you really have some great treasure to add to your collection.
When buying collectible baseball cards, evaluate the reason you buying it for. Is it an investment or are you buying it to round out a specific team of your collection. This will determine the amount you’re willing to pay for the card.
