Instead of buying collectible baseball cards one at a time or in small groups, a great way to buy them and possibly find some real treasures are in estate sales.
Some people feel weird about buying from estate sales but you really shouldn’t. If the previous owner of the cards loved the game and hobby so much to build up such a collection, they would no doubt appreciate that it will go to someone who also loves the hobby.
You can scan the classifieds for estate sales but more often than not they won’t list the fact that there are baseball cards, so the only way to find out is to actually attend them and look for yourself. Of course, this can be very time consuming so you really have to be the type who likes to do that.
A better way to look for estate sale baseball cards is from an online auction. You can look through quite a few listings so you get a good selection and you can only bid what you budget will manage.
Because they cards usually are in lot for estate sales, you can expect to pay a little since you getting more cards, but typically you get a better deal on a per card value than if you were buying them individually.
| Below are the current listings on eBay. If you see one that appeals to you bid on it or type what your looking for into the search bar and you will be shown those items that are available right now on eBay. |
